ABOUT
An award-winning Lithuanian film writer-director and film critic, currently also working in the Curatorial, Media and Communication sectors within the creative industries in Scotland. Monika's short drama film Little Jerusalem (2017) travelled to several film festivals around the world (including Vancouver International Film Festival) when she was only nineteen. Since then, she studied Film and Television at Edinburgh College of Art where she was exposed to intersectional academic ideas and became passionate about human rights. Her newest work, grounded in intersectional identity politics, introduces viewers to her roots and presents a story about women in a picturesque Lithuanian countryside.
